Robert graduated from Maxwell High School and later served in the United States Army, as a surveyor during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954. He was united in marriage October 2, 1955 to Norma J. Suits at North Platte. He was a member of the V.F.W., loved playing cards, fishing, hunting and watching his children and grandchildren in sports. Robert is survived by his wife, Norma, a daughter, Julie Martin Williams both of Maxwell; two sons, Mark of Maxwell and Dr. Dann (Dr. Kathy) Martin of Arlington, TX; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Martin of Baton Rouge, Ben Martin of San Diego, CA, Derek Williams of Eustis, NE, Darin Williams of Maxwell, Colten, Jordan, Mason and Caden Martin all of Arlington, TX; a sister, Barbara Hopping of North Platte; a brother, Michael Martin of Kansas City, KS; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Randy Martin on July 31, 1961
