Johann is the son of Johannes Nicholas Bressler and Eva Marie Ohli of Germany.

Johann married Elizabeth Stoner on 16 Feb 1786 in the 1st Reformed Church in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA.

They had 7 children they named: Maria, Anna "Nannie", Polly, Catherine, Lydia, Elizabeth, and Issac Bressler. All of their children were born in Lancaster Co., PA.
