Funeral services for Esther L. Erickson of Lakefield were held Dec. 13 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield with the Rev. Gary Anderson officiating. Mrs. Erickson died Dec. 11, 1991, at the Colonial Manor in Lakefield.
Interment was in the Lakefield Cemetery at Lakefield. Casket bearers were David, Richard and Dan Erickson, Blake and Mark Rossow, and Warren Stinar.
Esther Lenora Shefland, daughter of Omund and Regina (Byrne) Shefland, was born June 22, 1998, in Humboldt County, Iowa. As a young child, she moved with her family to a farm in Jackson County where she grew up and attended country school. Her mother died in 1907 and Esther then made her home with a sister and her husband, Marie and John Teig.
