Tabitha Allan May was born May 16, 1859, daughter of James C. May and Mary Henry May. Her father was the son of Robert Booker May and Tabitha Allen Johnston May of Yalobusha and Grenada Counties in Mississippi.
After James C. May's death in 1861, her mother, Mary Henry May married Josiah Dyches of Williamson Co.
On August 22, 1877, Tabitha was united in marriage to William Dyches in Williamson County, Texas. William was the son of Josiah and Eliza (Lewis) Dyches. He was murdered July 8, 1890, at the age of 31 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was buried in the McFadin Cemetery, Circleville, Williamson County, Texas. He was a former Texas Ranger. Their children were:

Tabitha died February 13, 1941 in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas, and was buried there in the Fairmount Cemetery.
All of the above listed children were also buried in Fairmount Cemetery near their mother.
