"Yankee" Age 88, of Lombard, IL. WWII U.S. Army Air Corps, P.O.W. of Germany, passed away February 7, 2010. Dearest husband of Florence, nee Salmon; beloved father of John (Karen) and Robert (Susan); loving grandfather of Kathryn, Zachary, Lisa, Stephanie and Jack. Francis was born in Escanaba, MI to Jean Baptiste and Ernestine Edouardina, nee DuBord; dear brother of Rita (the late Edwin) Shannon, Theresa (Harold) Rathfoot and Sister Lorraine Pepin O.P., Dominican Sisters of Adrian, MI; also preceded in death by eight brothers. Retired 31 year employee of DuPont's Fabric and Finishes. Memorial visitation Tuesday 3 to 9 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main St., Lombard. A Celebration of life Mass will be held at a later time at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Escanaba, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, Girl Scouts of USA and Friends of Scouting.
