Thelma L. Baltzell, 97, of Kahoka, MO, died July 22, 2002, at the Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA.
She was born May 1, 1905, in Deer Ridge, MO (Lewis County), the daughter of Henry S. and Elsie Lawson Patrick.
She was first married to Benton Carmack. She later married Marvin Morrow on May 22, 1937, in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1983. She then married Archie Silas Baltzell on April 29, 1984 in Williamstown, MO. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1988.
Thelma was a lifelong resident of Lewis and Clark Counties. She attended the Deer Ridge School and also one year of college. Prior to her marriage she taught at the Deer Ridge School for several years. She was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church. Church was her life. She had made six trips to the Holy Land. She also enjoyed canning vegetables.
Survivors include one brother, L. Roy Patrick and his wife, Betty of Camarillo, CA; two nieces, Mary Ellen Solum of Rudyard, MT, and Penny Decker of Des Moines, IA, and one nephew, Ralph Patrick of Rudyard, MT.
She was also preceded in death by one son in infancy; one sister, Ella Deane; one brother, Harry Patrick; and one niece, Pamela Sue Deane.
Funeral services were held July 25, 2002, at the Wyaconda Baptist Church in Wyaconda, MO with Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wyaconda Baptist Church. Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO was in charge of arrangements.
