Lois Ritterling
Lois Lucile Ritterling, daughter of Harold and Freida Bostlemann Hobelmann, was born July 8, 1937, near Hebron, and died December 21, 1989, at Thayer County Memorial Hospital in Hebron, at the age of 52 years, five months and 13 days.
She was baptized August 1, 1937, at Zion Lutheran Church, Carleton, Nebr., and confirmed April 6, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron.
She attended Ashgrove Rural Grade School and graduated from Byron High School.
She was united in marriage to Wilmer Ritterling, October 2, 1955, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron, and to this union three children were born.
She was a lifelong resident of the Byron community.
She served as custodian of the Chester-Hubbell-Byron schools at Byron from 1980-89.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Geneva, Nebr., a member of the past president of Spring Creek Square Dance Club, Ruskin, Nebr.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
She is survived by her husband, Wilmer of Byron; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Paula) Day of Hebron, Mrs. Matthew (Patti) Holt of Malberg, Germany; one son, Jon of Lincoln, Nebr.; two grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas; three step-grandchildren; her parents, three brothers, Delmar Hobelmann of Byron, Dean Hobelmann of Republic, Wayne Hobelmann of Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church at Geneva, December 26, conducted by Pastor Richard Schliewe. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Byron.
