She was the daughter of Oswald T. and Jennie R. Hawkins. She married Evan Harper Marchant on August 16, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had a great love for gardening, needle work, genealogy, and family history. She resided in Holladay for more than sixty years. Mother considered her greatest accomplishment the rearing of a good family.
LaRhea is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Dale Hawkins and Gwen Polson. She is survived by her children: Evelyn Mower (Vaughn), Bountiful, UT; Ross (Heidi), Jakarta, Indonesia; Lloyd (Mary Ann), Madison, MO; Keith (Sheryl) Springfield, OR; Grant (Jilleen), Sandy, UT; thirty-one grandchildren; and forty-three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Wilma Walgren (Ralph), and sisters-in-law JoAnn Hawkins and Elaine Marchant.
Mother was looking forward to being reunited with her husband, Evan. Mother approached each challenge with determination, grace, and dignity--never wavering in the love and faith she had for the Savior. Her example is part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holladay Eighth Ward Chapel, 5450 South Holladay Boulevard, Holladay, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, East Millcreek, Utah, and at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
