McHENRY – Frances G.M. Bridgewater, 93, of McHenry, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Alden Terrace of McHenry.

She was born Feb. 8, 1916, in England, to Mr. and Mrs. W. Hall.

She met her husband in England during World War II while she was serving in the British military as a driver. Her husband was stationed at a nearby American naval base where he was a Seabee. She married her husband March 17, 1946, in England, and she later relocated with him to the United States. She lived in Woodridge for 18 years before becoming ill.

She is best remembered as a lover of music and animals, particularly horses and poodles.

She is survived by her sister, Anne Batting; and her nephews, Tom and Malcom Batting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and her brother, John Hall.

The visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral Friday, Jan. 22, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
