B. F. WILLIAMS.-++.-VICTORIA, Tex., April 15.-B. F. Williams, aged 69, State Representative of Victoria, Calhoun and Goliad Counties, prominent local citizen and lumber dealer, died here this morning after a lingering illness. Since removing to Victoria in 1883 he had been prominent in local business and social circles. He is survived by his widow, two sons, John Ruthven and Ben F., Jr., of this city, and two brothers, John Patterson and Andrew Jackson Williams of Houston......Back in the 80's Mr. Williams was Deputy Chief of Police and later Deputy Sheriff under Cornelius Nobles at Houston. He was a Confederate veteran, having joined the army at the age of 15 and served through the war as a member of Company A, Twenty-Sixth Texas Cavalry.....His body will be buried here tomorrow.------Source: San Antonio Express, San Antonio, Texas, Sunday, April 16, 1916; Pg. 6, Column 3
