Karen Wehrly age 67, 8883 East 800 South Union City, Indiana passed away Sunday at the I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Jay County January 13, 1942 the daughter of Carl and Nadine (LeMaster) Pease. She was married June 25, 1960 to Fred K. Wehrly and he passed away December 17, 2003. She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Jay and Randolph County Schools. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as Sunday School teacher and on Church Council, Chairman of Jay County Sesquicentennial, Past president of American Association of University Women, Past president of East Central Indiana Reading Association, member of Women's Auxiliary of V.F.W., Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Retired Teachers Association, Madison High School graduate and a Ball State graduate earning a bachelors and masters degrees as well as a principal's certificate. She was selected Who's Who Among American Teachers, coached tennis at Randolph Eastern, active in Jay County Arts Council.

Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Tracy (Terri) Williamson of Lucerne, Indiana, Mrs. Ben (Kim) Williams of Richland, Washington and Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Howell of Portland. Two brothers Deane Pease of Texas and Stephen Pease of Ft. Wayne Six grandchildren
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Strietelmeier presiding. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
