Sherry Miller Calhoun Lynn, of Mt. Pleasant, wife of Judge Thomas Earl Lynn, lost her valiant fight against cancer on January 5, 2010.

Born August 12, 1949 in Conway, she was a daughter of the late Raymond C. Calhoun and Wilma Miller Calhoun and granddaughter of the late W. Robert and Isla Miller and James A. & Julia S. Calhoun.

Sherry graduated from Conway High School and received her education degree from Winthrop University and received her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston.

She taught in the Berkeley County School District and the Charleston County School District for 35 years, primarily in Kindergarten. Sherry found her passion and niche as a kindergarten teacher and loved each and every one of the many children whose lives she touched.

Her other love was for Clemson University and all its athletics. She was a member of Hibben United Methodist Church, the Joe Taylor Sunday School Class, the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and the Charleston County Clemson Club.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Thomas E. Lynn and son, Thomas E. Lynn, II both of Mt. Pleasant; her sister, Saundra C. Crosland, her brother, Ken C. Calhoun, sister-in-law, Beth Calhoun and step-mother, Isla G. Calhoun all of Conway, SC; her parents-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Matthew H. Lynn of Winnsboro, SC; one niece and three nephews.

Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
