Died Saturday evening, January 7, 1995. Mr. Meulman was born February 19, 1912, in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Klaas and Tilly (Smith) Meulman, and was a life resident of this community. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He had worked for Pure Oil Co. for 30 years, and for Western Michigan University for 10 years, from which he retired in May of 1979. Bill loved to bowl and golf. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Reint and Garrett Meulman. On June 21, 1938, he was united in marriage to Ruth E. Furney, who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, 1 daughter and spouses, Jim and Lois Meulman of Kalamazoo, Jerry and Judy Meulman of Portage, Duane and Joyce Meulman of Kalamazoo, Ruthann and Harold Howell of Brighton, Jeff and Dora Meulman of London, England; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Andy and Vicki, Anthony, Marc, Lindsey, Michael, Hal, Derrick, Colin and Kerry; 3 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Caleb and Micah; his twin brother, Rev. Joseph Meulman of Ypsilanti; several nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Meulman will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Church of the Nazarene, 5625 Oakland Dr., with Rev. Mr. Keith Grove and Rev. Mr. Jack Holcomb officiating. Interment Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the LANGLAND MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 622 S. Burdick, A Trust 100 Chapel, Tuesady from 2-4 and 7-9, where memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Memorial Fund or Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo.
