"Thomas Newton Brown, 73, of New Bern, N.C., died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Mr. Brown was a son of the late Roy and Lilla Lord Brown. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Jackson Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. John Turlington officiating, assisted by the Rev. Don Paulson. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patricia Horne Brown; two daughters, Nannette Rod, Overland Park, Kan., and Lilleen Hammond, Greenville, N. C.; two brothers, Bill Brown, Commerce, and Paul Brown, Athens; one sister, Jean Hunt, New Bern, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Ashley Hammond, Greenville, N.C."
