John Keith Baxter, 78, died peacefully at his home on December 11, 2009.


He was born January 30, 1931 to John Weir and Mildred Powers Baxter of Park City, Utah.


He was sealed to his sweetheart, Dalene Leone Armstrong, on August 26, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised seven children.


Keith was an avid musician and scholar. He was valedictorian of his class at Park City High School. While studying Pharmacy at the University of Utah, he played flute and piccolo in the University Orchestra, University Band, the National Guard 23rd Army band and an avenues community orchestra. Throughout his career, he worked as a pharmacist at many community and hospital pharmacies.


Keith was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and greatly cherished his testimony of the gospel. He served valiantly in many callings.


He is survived by his wife Dalene and his children: David Baxter, Janet (Randy) Bartholomew, Marilyn (Skip) Riggs, Robert Baxter, Richard (Amy) Baxter, Susan Baxter, Karen (Mirek) Gruszkiewicz, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, and daughter-in-law.


Funeral Services for Keith will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the Salt Lake Twenty-First North Ward Chapel, Second Avenue and "K" Street, Salt Lake City, UT. Family and friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT, and at the Church on Tuesday morning from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
