Astrid was united in marriage to Ambrose Culliton on Aug. 19, 1946 in Esko. She was an active member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton where she was the former financial secretary and a member of the Quilters at Bethesda. Astrid was also a member of the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 2962 Auxiliary of Carlton.
Astrid was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ambrose; four brothers, John, George, Ben and Matt Kesti; and one sister, Sylvia Kraushaar.
She is survived by one son, Raymond (Janice) Culliton of Duluth; two daughters, Earleen (Charles) Hanson of Wrenshall and Lois (David) Van Reese of Nashwauk; three grandchildren, Logan and Jenessa Van Deen and Christie Culliton; one brother, Leslie 'Kayo' (Dorothy) Kesti of Esko; two sisters, Elna Korby of Esko, and Ruth (Kenneth) Koski of Cloquet; two sisters-in-law, Martha Kesti of Carlton and Martha Kesti of Esko; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donovan and Darlene Culliton of Tower; numerous nieces and nephews, and a very special nephew, Dwaine (Patty) Culliton of Minneapolis.
VISITATION:12 noon Saturday, May 20, 2006 until the 1 p.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon in the fellowship room. Inurnment services will be at the Holyoke Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Bethesda Lutheran Church. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care to assist them with arrangements.
