Alex Franklin 'Frank' McKinney
Alex Franklin 'Frank' McKinney, 55, of 21 Gibson Street in Dansville, died Monday, October 21, 1996 after a short illness with leukemia since December of 1995.
He was born December 27, 1940 in Fayette County, West Virginia, the son of the late James Anderson McKinney and Della Pauline (Kaincaid) McKinney. He was married in Glenville. W. Virginia, on May 3, 1963 to Sandra S. (Sue) Moss McKinney, whom he had been married to for 33 years.
Frank had been employed at Akzo Nobel Salt in Retsof, N.Y., for 28 years, where he retired from in June of 1996 with a medical retirement from the maintenance department.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1130 in Dansville, an avid NASCAR fan and was devoted to work.
Frank was predeceased by one sister, Doris Jean Sill; and two brothers, Harold A. 'Mac' McKinney and Billy McKinney.
Besides his wife Sue, he is survived by three daughters, Karen (Mike) McCray and Kim (Bob) Hartson, both of Dansville; and Jenny McKinney at home; one granddaughter, Tiffany Megan Hartson of Dansville; four brothers, Ralph (Bertha) McKinney of Rainelle, W. Virginia; James (Jean) McKinney of Dansville, Donald (Wendy) McKinney of Lancaster, Calif., and Kenney (Bonnie) McKinney of Dansville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends called Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Chamberlin Funeral Home Inc., 73 Main St., Dansville, where funeral services will be held today, (Thursday) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Dansville Ambulance Co., P.O. Box 235; the American Red Cross Clara Barton Chapter #1, 57 Elizabeth St.; or the Dansville Fire Dept., P.O. Box 401, all of Dansville, NY, 14437.
