Sarah Ann Pearson was the eldest daughter and first child of Thomas Pearson (1805 - about 1865) and Tabitha Naomi Fornea (about 1810 - 1868) and the second wife of John Yarborough (1817 - 1905), to whom she was married on 27 March 1851 in Marion County, MS. Sarah and John had six children: Thomas (1852 - 1895), Sarah E. (Sis) (1854 - 1906), Charles Joseph (Joe or C.J.) (1857 - 1945), Harvey Quitman (1858 - 1949), Eudora Kittura (1866 - 1890), and Samuel Lewis (1873 - 1913).

Sarah's headstone misspells her maiden name as "Yorborrough" and names her birth year in error as 1841. It was 1832. She is 18 in the 1850 census with her family in Washington Parish LA, 38 in the census of 1870, living with her husband John Yarborough and four of their children in Summit, Pike County, MS, and 48 in the 1880 census in the 2nd Ward, St. Helena Parish LA, living with John and three of their children.

In 1900, at age 68, Sarah lives with John and their son "Joe C." (Charles Joseph Yarborough) and his family in Ward 2 in St. Helena Parish. They are farming and the household also includes one young servant, Arthur Mixon, and two farm laborers, Arthur's brother Jonathan Mixon and Sina Audera (sp?).

The family would greatly appreciate any information, documents, or images concerning her life.
