Roma Lee Akins Etheridge, 94, of Hiram, formerly of Mableton, Georgia died on November 27, 2009.

Born on October 23 1915, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack A. Etheridge, Sr., a championship race car driver who held the title at Jacksonville for several years.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda Vollrath and husband Joel of Hiram; son, Jack Etheridge and wife, Claudia of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Brian Vollrath, Jennifer Etheridge and husband, Jeff Huegel, Jackson Etheridge, and two great-grandchildren; brother, J. T. Akins and wife, Dot of Mableton and sister, Frances Edmonds of Rome.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Monday at Barber Cemetery with Rev. Burt Carmichael officiating. The family will receive friends at Gene Davis-White Columns Chapel in Mableton 4-7 Sunday.
