Early Day Resident Died in Washington--

Peter C Rogan, 81, passed away February 5 in a nursing home at Seattle WA. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon Feb 8 and burial was in a Seattle cemetery.

Mr Rogan was born on November 2 1886 at Leipzig Germany and came to the United States in 1905 and settled at Philadelphia PA where he lived for several years before moving to Minnesota. He was married to Miss Signe Stortroen in 1911 at Bemidji MN and the couple moved to Big Falls about 1915 where they settled on a homestead in Henry township. They were the parents of three children. In 1937 they moved to International Falls and in 1942 the family moved out west and settled in Seattle. Mr Rogan had been in poor health for the past 16 years after suffering a stroke.

Survivors include his wife Signe, daughters LaVerne Panion and Irene Gowdy and eight grandchildren all of Seattle. An only son, Bruce was killed in action in Italy on August 18, 1944 during World War II
