Mrs. Carter was born on June 2, 1931, in Sandtown, Oklahoma. She was the first of five children. She attended school in Wagoner County and it was there that she met and later married Luther Robinson, Sr. on April 15, 1949. From this union, 15 children were born, including 11 girls and four boys.

Her favorite things to do after retirement were spending time traveling visiting her family and friends. She loved to spend time working in her flower beds, vegetable garden, and was an avid collector of frog figurines.
