BENNINGTON - Clayton Bryant Robison, 61, passed away October 24, 2009, at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier, Idaho. Clayton was born January 27, 1948, to Bryant and Joyce Robison. He was raised in a loving home on the family dairy farm, where he worked with his family milking cows and raising hay and grain. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1966, and served a Latter-day Saint mission in the New Zealand North Mission from 1967 to 1969. After his mission he attended Ricks College and studied agriculture.
Clayton married Shari Hines in the Logan temple in 1970. They were later divorced. Clayton married Susan Irene Tippets in the Logan Temple April 19, 1980, and six children were born to this union, Idella Irene, Elizabeth Rose, Jane Marie, Bryant Clayton, Cory Lewis and Mary Jacqueline.
Clayton was an EMT for 12 years in the Bear Lake Valley and a volunteer firefighter for many years. He worked at Conda Mining, Nuwest, Agrium, World Mark and as an appliance repairman.
Clayton was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including Explorer leader, Scout master, ward mission leader (twice with his great companion and wife, Susan), bishop's counselor, Sunday school president and home teacher. To him, the calling that is most important is husband and father.
Clayton will be remembered for his great love and compassion for his fellow man.
Clayton was preceded in death by his infant sister, Jacqueline, brother, Lewis Eugene, and father, Milton Bryant Robison. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Marie Robison; wife, Susan Irene Robison; children, Idella (Jared) Cutler, Glens Falls, New York, Elizabeth (Fielding) Steen-Larsen, San Diego, California, Jane (Michael) Merkley, Pocatello, Idaho, Bryant, Cory and Mary, all of Bennington; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Rozanna (Scott) Shaw, Mountain View, Wyoming, and Jocelyn (Keven) Nield, Bennington; and one sister-in-law, Carol (Lewis, deceased), Emmett, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held October 31, 1 p.m. at the Bennington LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family before the funeral from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Bennington Cemetery.
Services will be under the direction of Bishop John Tippets. Professional services provided by Matthews Mortuary.
