Harrol Leroy Boyles, age 78, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at his home in Asher, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26th at First Baptist Church of Asher, Oklahoma, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery. Dwayne Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers are Chase Everett, Derral Carnes, Steve Holt, Brad Holt, Will Hunt and Shane Coker. Visitation is scheduled for Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Harrol was born on April 12, 1931, to Effie Mae (Roberts) and Hughey "Jocko" Boyles in Roff, Oklahoma. He married Betty (Holt) on October 28, 1957 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He ran Harrol's Club in Ada, Oklahoma for a number of years.
Harrol served in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He is survived by one brother, Pete Boyles of Ada, Oklahoma; one niece, Delta Cline and husband, Bryan; one great niece, Amanda Finch; one great nephew, Darrel Carnes; one brother-in-law, Bruce Holt; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Boyles; his parents, Effie and Jocko Boyles; and a brother, Alford James, who died during service in World War II.
