Mr. Bullis' sickness which was the cause of his death, was of short duration. he was in bed just nine days, very sick from the first with the dreaded and treacherous disease, pneumonia. Mr. Bullis has lived in and a round Belmond since 1864 and hence is an old settler here. He will be missed from our community. The funeral will be held from the home Thursday forenoon at ten o'clock. Rev. Van Metre will have charge of the services and interment will be in Franklin Grove cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the afflicted. - Belmond Herald, February 3, 1909
