Gifford Dill
GREER, MAY 30, Gifford Dill, 83, died at his home in the Glassy Mountain township near Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church at 9 o'clock tonight; following an illness of two months. He had made his home in that section all his life.
In early life he married Miss Anne Crain who died 13 years ago. Mr. Dill is survived by three sons Fate, Terrell and Jackson Dill, all of Glassy Mountain township and 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Dill was a member of the Ebenezer- Welcome Baptist church for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted from that church Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock by his pastor the Rev. Ray Gowan. Interment will follow in the family plot in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Milton Sudduth, Roy Moon, Loyce Barton, Alvin Clayton, Perry Lindsey and Cleveland Center.
