Juanita was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church, and until the last few years was active in United Methodist Women, the Bethany Class, and Eastern Star of which she was a past Worthy Matron. She was the town's "walker" as she walked several miles almost every day. She loved to read, garden, knit, crochet, and sew. She made many items for the church's annual bazaar as well as for her children and grandchildren. She also liked to travel and made several trips around the country with family and friends.
Juanita was preceded in death by husband Glenn in 1976, a granddaughter, Amy Jo Davis in 1984, and 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Surviving are 3 daughters, Elaine Bailey and Diana (Dennis) Biggs of Evansville and Janet (Ed) Waldo of Indianapolis; 2 sons, Norman Bailey of Evansville and Kenyon (Marsha) Bailey of New Harmony. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009, at Werry Funeral Home-New Harmony Chapel at 1 p.m. with burial in Old Beech Cemetery near New Harmony.
Friends may call at Werry Funeral Home on Monday at 11 a.m. until service time.
