Sister Rose Angela was my 4th grade teacher at Transfiguration School at 55th and Cedar Avenue Philadelphia in the 1952/1953 school year, my first year at “Transy”. Sister was known for wanting to teach only boys and for her strict discipline. I recall that there were some 82 boys in the class that year. Our classroom was on the third floor on the southeast side of the building. At that time, I perceived that Sister was up in years and I remember admiring how she could climb all those stairs a few times a day even in the heat and handle so many 9 year olds. I am thankful that I had such dedicated and wonderful (and even strict) Sisters there and may God bless Sister Rose Angela.
