Jesus (Jesse) G. Barrientes, 65, of Baytown, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Professionally, Jesse worked 14 years with Coastal Security at various U.S. Embassies. He was also a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching western movies, the Dallas Cowboys, and drinking his morning coffee in the company of his numerous friends. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 26 grandchildren and was blessed to see his first great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roberto Barrientes.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Delores Morales Barrientes; children: Timothy Barrientes and wife, Leslie, of Humble, Rodney Barrientes, Kathryn Alegria and husband, Ronnie, Jesus Barrientes II, Meredith Perez and husband, Joel, Alison Medina and husband, Mike, and Melanie Barrientes and husband, David Delgado; grandchildren: Kirsten, Michael, Christophe, Nicolai and Kelsey Barrientes, and Timothy Ortiz, Rodney II, Nicholas, Julie Barrientes and Stephanie Lilley, Manuel, Ronnie, Jr., Aaron, Madison and Katlyn Alegria, Matthew and Joleigh Perez, Mical, Raegan, Joshua, and Kenady Grayce Medina, Ivan Barrientes, Aleksandr, Jessika, David and Chloe Delgado; and great grandson; Ryan Christopher Alegria; siblings, Joe G. Barrientes and wife, Rose, Mary Vento and husband, Manuel, and Ruben Barrientes and wife, Lucy; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and family.

The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice Care and nurse Amanda Rivera and Father Jesus Guerrero, and a Special Thank You to Tony Ramirez, Anna Coy, Martina Paiz, and the many friends and family for the abundant amount of support and prayers that were given to the family during this most difficult time.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2009, with Father Jesus Guerrero, OSA, celebrant. Burial will follow at Hill of Rest Cemetery, Baytown.
