Dr. Harrel Bishop, 75, of Hayti died Sept. 18 in Blytheville. Born Sept. 18, 1912, in Cardwell, he was the son of Grover C. and Frances C. Hart Bishop. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Caruthersville and he was a 1930 graduate of Caruthersville High School. He was a dentist in Hayti for several years. He retired from the army as a lieutenant colonel Sept. 18, 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Louise Tichacek Bishop of Hayti; Three sons, Robert Bishop of Sioux Falls, S.D., Donald Bishop of Detroit and Wayne Bishop of St. Louis; One daughter, Sue Humphreys of Denver; One brother, Dr. Delbert Bishop of Poplar Bluff; And four grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Hayti, the Rev. Ira Singleton officiating, with burial in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Robert, Donald, Wayne and David Bishop, Bill Childress, Floyd Smith and John Humphryes.
