Santford Abbott, Jr. age 65, of Rushville, passed away at 4:34 PM, Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 26, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of Santford and Pauline Belle (Cooper) Abbott, both deceased. He married Wanda L. Blevins Aug. 11, 1963; she survives.
Mr. Abbott was a factory worker for over 27 years at D & M Design & Manufacturing in Connersville. He was an avid hunter and gun collector.
Survivors in addition to his wife include son, Willie Abbott of Rushville; daughter, Janeen (Mark) Dulworth of Middletown; five grandchildren, Santina, Tiffani, Josi, Mark Jr. and Dustin; and five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Warren Engel officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
