Zetta Ivy Best Snellings was born in Cortez, CO March 6, 1915 to Eli and Bertha Best. She died on Sept. 19, 2009 in Okla. City, OK. While living in Grand Junction, CO, she met the "love of her life," F.W. (Duke) Snellings, and they were married on Sept. 6, 1932 in Green River, Utah. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Shawnee, OK, and later they established a residence in Edmond, OK. They had three children: Jenny, Rick and Joe. During their 34 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. After her husband's death in 1966, she continued to travel and achieved one of her goals when she toured Europe with her daughter, Jenny, and sister-in-law, Mildrene Mote. Zetta was a member of Eastern Star. She was kind, patient and very generous and always there when you needed her. She loved to knit and crochet. Zetta is preceded in death by her husband; her son, Rick; her parents; two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Wingfield, and husband, Damon Wingfield; son, Joe Snellings, and wife, Nancy; daughter-in-law, Penny Snellings; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK, Wed. the 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee, OK. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
