My great-great-grandfather Joseph Glisson is also buried at Upper Black Creek. He too served in the Confederacy in Company B of Georgia's Hardwick Mounted Rifles who defended the Georgia coast and Fort McAllister on the Ogeechee River. He was later transferred to Company H, 7th Georgia Cavalry, when the Hardwick Mounted Rifles was absorbed into the new 7th Georgia Cavalry. He suffered a sabre wound, perhaps at the Battle of Trevillian Station in Virginia.
