Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Adcock, 97, of Meridian died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 in Meridian.
She retired from Ms Employment Security Commission after 35 years where she worked as an employment interviewer. She was a member of IAPES and also worked as a volunteer for Riley Hospital.
Mrs. Adcock was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church where she taught Jr. and Intermediate Girls Sunday School Class for a number of years. She was active in all other church activities.
Survivors include her son, Harvey Gerald "Jerry" Adcock and his wife, Nita, of Meridian; grandchildren, Todd Adcock and his wife, Jennifer, of Brookhaven, Linda Spivey of Madison, and Leigh Pittman of Starkville; great-grandchildren, Dan and Rachel Spivey of Jackson, Mary Todd Pittman of Starkville, and Clark Pittman of Starkville; great-great-grandchildren, Lydia and Barnabas Spivey of Jackson, and Sam Adcock, Sarah Todd Adcock, and Robert Adcock, of Brookhaven; sister, Yvonne Thompson of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Quinton Adcock; brothers, Roger Salter, Randolph Salter and Willard Salter; and a sister, Ruby Corban.
Pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Dan Moore, Don Parker, Clark Pittman and Dan Spivey. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
