ESCONDIDO - Robert Newton Nelson, 70, of 660 W. Seventh Ave., Escondido, died Wednesday at Palomar Memorial Hospital. Born March 24, 1901 in Missouri, he had lived in San Diego County for 15 year. He was a plasterer for 20 years and a member of the Broadway Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Loys Nelson; two daughter, Patricia Kaus and Della Bunda, both of Escondido; six sons, Hervey Nelson of Bakersfield, Herb and Harold Nelson, both of San Franciso, Ray Nelson of San Marcos, and Robert and Marvin, both of Escondido, and six sisters. A service was held this afternoon at the McLeod Mortuary Chapel. Rev. D. C. Puryear, pastor of teh Broadway Baptist Church, officated. Burial was in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
