Malanie A. Trempe, 89, of New Holstein, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein.
She was born Dec. 12, 1914, in New Holstein, a daughter of the late Herman and Ella Schroeder Muenster. Malanie graduated from New Holstein High School. On July 3, 1943, she married Dorwald "Dutch" Trempe in Waukegan, III. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1989.
Malanie worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Co. in New Holstein and at a resort in California. She and her husband had also owned and operated Trempe's Menswear clothing store in New Holstein. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Mark) Nissen of Albuquerque, N.M., and Sally (Demitris "Takis") Manesis of Mykonos, Greece; and one grandson, William Manesis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held in May with an announcement in the paper prior to the service. The Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein is assisting with arrangements.
