Mary "Polly" Huey was born April 1, 1797 to Mr. and Mrs. John Huey in North Carolina and they had only one other daughter, Catherine Huey born 1810.

Mary "Polly" married on Nov 28, 1819, Caldwell County, Kentucky to Naum Dunning, son of Jesse Dunning, Jr & Atha Dunning.

Naum and Mary "Polly" Dunning had seven children, two of whom married into the Pendleton Family.

1. Nancy Anney Dunning-Pendleton- 1820-1892
2. Serinah "Serena" Dunning-Adams - 1821
3. Mary "Catherine" Dunning-Lester – 1825-1904
4. Zachariah Dunning married(Sarah Jane Pendleton) 1827-1857
5. Doctrine Henry "Doc" Dunning – 1830-1892
6. Rebecca E Dunning-Miller – 1833
7. Cordy C Dunning – 1834 died during the Civil War Jan 20,1863

Mary "Polly" Huey-Dunning was married a second time on Jan 20, 1844 in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to William K West. By 1860, they had moved to Lawrence County, Missouri and were living by her daughter Mary Catherine and Daniel Lester, who had made the move to Missouri at the same time as William Monroe Pendleton and Nancy Anney Dunning-Pendleton.

Mary is buried in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with some of her children and extended family.
