Nell Jenkins Mangum, age 103, died March 28, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Charlotte, N.C. Born in Chesterfield County, S.C. she was the daughter of R. Whiteford Jenkins and Ella Wallace Jenkins. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and taught school in Chesterfield County for 43 years. She was the oldest surviving member of Zion United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband Ems L. Mangum; infant son Billie Mangum; granddaughter Carol Whitehurst; sister Otis Smith; brothers Dewitt Jenkins, Drew Jenkins, Hazel Jenkins.
