"Henri I. Chambers Dies In Charleston --- Charleston, IL, Feb. 6 --- Henri I. Chambers, pioneer citizen of Charleston, and a veteran of the Civil War, passed away at 10:40 o'clock on Friday night, at the family residence, 1102 Jefferson street, in this city. He had been ill for about a year.

"The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at the home with Rev. Blair of the Charleston Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the Chambers private lot, in the old city cemetery, at the west side of Charleston.

"Mr. Chambers was 90 years old and a native of Charleston. His friends claim for him the distinction of having been the oldest native born resident of Coles county. His wife has been dead for a number of years. Surviving are two children, Edward Chambers and Mrs. Shan Stiff, both of Charleston, and a sister, Mrs. W. E. Hill, Charleston. There are 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He belonged to the Baptist church."
