SPRINGHILL, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Davis Coyle, age 87, were held Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating and Rev. Jonathan Montgomery assisting. Interment followed in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Visitation began Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mrs. Coyle was born August 20, 1921 in Trenton, GA To Columbus Edward and Lillie Lancaster Davis and passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Taylor, AR. She was a lifelong resident of this area, was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Coyle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a caregiver to many children in this area and will be remembered as "Grannie Coyle" to all who she loved and cared for.
She is survived by her children, Pat Spence and husband, Jessie of Springhill, LA, Ava Jo Lewis and husband, Nolan of Springhill, LA, Jeaneane C. Baker of Cotton Valley, LA, Michael "Little Pud" Coyle and wife, Susie of Springhill, LA; brother, Morgan Davis of Tyler, TX; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Coyle was preceded in death by her husband, Gordan William "Pud" Coyle, Sr; a son, Gordon William "Dub" Coyle, Jr; a daughter, Sandra C. Giddings; a granddaughter, Sonya Denise Fitzgerald and three brothers, J.D. Davis, Robert Davis and Orvil Davis.
Pallbearers will be seven grandsons, Jessie Spence, Jr., Terry Reeme, Micah Reeme, Michael Baker, Jr, Clark Coyle, Tim Coyle and Jared Coyle.
