J. W. Webber, Aged 69, Dead

Well Known Resident Dies After Few Hours Illness.

Following a few hours' illness, J. W. Webber, aged 69, a lifelong resident of this city died at 3:30 o'clock this morning at his residence at 336 West Sixth street, death being due to heart trouble. Deceased was born June 16, 1848. His parents, who were pioneer residents of this city, lived on Market street, on the present location of the Bell Telephone company's office. At an early age Mr. Webber became engaged in the pottery business here, which he followed up until a year and half previous to his death. He was last employed as a presser in the C. C. Thompson pottery. The following sons and daughters survive. Robert, of Richmond, Cal.; James, of Chilticothe, O.; Mrs. Joe Andrews, of this city; Mrs. Fred Matthews, of Wellsville; Mrs. James Cook of Buffalo; and Louise at home. Richard Webber, of this city, a brother and the following sisters, Mrs. Ola Bucheit, of Akron and Mrs. Harriet Ritter, of Philadelphia, also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the late residence on West Sixth street. Rev. D. W. McLeod, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview cemetery. Friends may view the remains tomorrow evening.
