Kenneth E. "Jiggs" "Jake" MyersKenneth E. "Jiggs" "Jake" Myers, 73, of Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville, formerly of the Knox area, died at 7:28 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, in Clarion Hospital.

Born Feb. 21, 1931, in Turkey City, he was the son of Joseph and Marie Baynham Myers.

Mr. Myers was employed for many years at Knox Glass. He then owned and operated Jake's Used Merchandise in Oil City for several years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Knox RD 2.Mr. Myers belonged to Edenburg Lodge No. 550, F. & A.M. in Knox, the New Castle Consistory and the Erie Shrine Club. He also was a member of the Clarion County Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, boating, "wheeling and dealing"and his grandchildren.

Mr. Myers was married Oct. 26, 1952, to Joan McCleary, who died July6, 1994.

Surviving are two daughters, Joni Bell and husband, Gerry, and LisaMyers, all of Knox; four sons, Dave Myers of St. Petersburg, MarkMyers of Pittsburgh, Mike Myers and wife, Kim, of Maurertown, Va., and Tim Myers and wife, Bev, of Monroe; and five grandchildren, Justin and Amy Bell of Knox, Ben Knight with the U.S. Navy in Iraq, and Katie and Jackie Knight of Knox.He also is survived by three brothers and their wives, Bill and JanetMyers of Knox, Don and Poppy Myers of Perrysville and Joseph "Bub" and Phyllis Myers of Cedar Park, Texas.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Myers was preceded in deathby two sisters, Phyllis Best and Helen Dunkle; and a brother, James B. "Ben" Myers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home,Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert McCarty, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Knox RD 2, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Union Cemetery, Knox RD 2.

The family suggests memorials be made to Clarion-Forest VNA, P.O. Box668, Knox, 16232, or to St. Paul Lutheran Church, RD 2, Knox, 16232.
