Dorothy Nadine Wallace Wilson, 97, of John Day, died July 22, 2009, at her daughter's home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Condon Cemetery with Pastor Dan Benson officiating.
Mrs. Wilson was born on May 7, 1912, in Fossil, to Charles F. and Cora May (Clark) Wallace. She attended school in Cove and Condon. She began working in restaurants in Condon at age 13.
She married ROY F. WILSON. The couple owned or leased several restaurants in the John Day Valley. She retired in 1982.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Palmer of John Day; two stepdaughters, Joye (Lee) Walmsley of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Charlene Rabung of Yakima, Wash.; five grandsons, Frank (Kelly) Herrera of Albany, Robert Herrera of John Day, Roy (Karen) Goldman of San Sol del Sur, Nicaragua, Glenn (RoseAnn) Palmer of John Day and Sam Palmer of John Day; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; son, Arley Albert Duval; five sisters; and one brother.
