Julia J. Pavey, 79, 729 N. Ewing, died at her home early Sunday afternoon after a brief illness.

She was born January 1, 1896 in Rexburg, Idaho, and she attended schools in Rexburg and Salt Lake City, Utah.

She later taught school in Rexburg and Maudlow, Montana and Willow Creek, Montana.

She married James W. Pavey on July 18, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Before retiring here in Helena, Mrs. Pavey assisted her husband in the operation of gasoline and oil bulk plants in Helena and Bozeman. She was a member of the St. Helena Cathedral Parish and the Daughters of Isabelle.

Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers. Survivors include her husband, at the family home; a daughter, Mrs. Garry (Angela) Knapstad of Great Falls; a brother, Tony Lavery of Rexburg; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Fitzgerald of Hemet, California; and Sister M. Helen Angela Lavery of San Mateo, California; and one grandson, Kenneth Knapstad of Great Falls.

Rosary services will be conducted at 7 p.m. tonight from the Hagler Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Helena Cathedral. Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex L. Grimes, Milton C. Mitchke, Manley O. Mortensen, Ben T. Melugin, Joseph A. Maierle, and William E. Bradford.
