Larry Carl Vowell, 50, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, in Maggie Valley, N.C.
Larry was a member at Second Baptist Church in Clinton. Larry served two years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Carl Vowell; brother, Michael Vowell; and grandparents, Charlie and Edith Roysden.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Vowell of Clinton; daughter, Jennifer Vowell of Clinton; stepdaughter, Angela Stogsdill of Wisconsin; son, Christopher Vowell of Clinton; mothers, Rosalee Vowell of Clinton, and Bonnie Zakareckis of Clinton; sisters, Donna and husband Clarence of Pearson, Ohio, and Lisa and husband Jason Steeber of Clinton; brother, David Timms and wife Beverly of Ohio; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and plenty of cousins. Larry's family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton with the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville with full military honors at the graveside. Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements
