Revs. Lowell Webb and Lee Music officiated Feb 4 at funeral services for Roscoe Edward "Edd" Preston, 57. A West Van Lear resident, Mr. Preston died Feb 2 in Veterans Hospital, Lexington, following an extended illness.
He was born May 11, 1926, in Johnson Co., the son of Herbert Preston and the late Maryoma Davis Preston. He was a miner and a member of the Van Lear Masonic Lodge F & AM. Other survivors include his wife, Mary Daniels Preston; a son, Danny Preston, Paintsville; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Ward, West Van Lear; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Stambaugh, Scottsdale, AZ; and Mrs. Cheryl Ramey, Nippa; and his step-mother, Mrs. Naomi Preston. Burial was in Davis Cemetery, Paintsville, under the direction of Paintsville Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were John Holbrook, Bob Castle, Paul Childers, Dick Barber, Jimmy Pack, Billy Davis and Phillip
Woods.
