Dorothy Hughes Zachry, 95, formerly of Cameron and Waco, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in a Weatherford nursing home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Oak Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Cameron, with the Rev. Richard Roland officiating. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at the Central Christian Church in Waco. Family visitation will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Dorothy was born in Paradise, Texas, to the late Charles and Jemima Stroud Worcester. She was a C. H. Yoe graduate. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Waco.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Dwight Stanley Hughes and Woodie Moore Zachry; a grandson; a granddaughter; a brother; a sister; and a step-daughter.
Survivors include her son, Dwight Charles Hughes and wife, Emily, of Ruidoso, N.M.; daughter, Marilyn Diann Zachry and husband, Tom, of Fort Worth; step-son, Woodie Zachry Jr. and wife, Fran; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and caring friends.
