The Rev. William H. Allen, 64, a former pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church in Long Beach, died Thursday at 11:05 p.m. at the Biloxi Veterans Facilities Hospital. The Rev. Mr. Allen served as an evangelist in this area for a number of years. A native and life-long resident of the Coast, he was born in Long Beach on Sept. 5, 1895. He resided at Rt. 1, Box 105, Long Beach, on the Daugherty Road. He was a carpenter and a veteran of World War I, serving with the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allie Marie Williams Allen, Long Beach; one son, Joseph H. Allen, Natchitoches, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Annie Rutledge, Mrs. Ollie Pierson and Miss Barbara Fay Allen, Long Beach; seven grandchildren, six brothers, Wiley, Warren, Fred, T. C., Phillip and Robert Allen, all of Long Beach; and four sisters, Mrs. W. A. Woodcock, Mrs. W. V. Lacy, Mrs. R. L. Leggett and Mrs. Charles Reed, all of Long Beach. The body was removed from Riemann's Funeral Home in Gulfport this afternoon at 2 o'clock to the family residence on Daugherty Road where a prayer service will be held Saturday morning at 9:45 o'clock. Religious services will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. B. L. Smith, Laurel, and the Rev. Howard A. Gay, pastor of Sharon Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
