Mrs. Maude Malone Alexander of near Osceola, Ark., wife of T.C. Alexander, farmer and planter living near that town and a former resident of Deering, died at Steele last Saturday in the early afternoon as a result of self-administered poison in the form of bi-chloride of mercury, according to diagnosis of Dr. McDaniel, a physician of Steele. Her death occurred shortly after she had been placed in Smith ambulance, called from this city, and the driver had started to Blytheville to place her in the hospital there, death coming as they reached the outskirts of the town.

The body was brought to this city Saturday evening and taken next morning to the home of Mrs. Ezell at Deering where it remained during Sunday and Sunday night and where funeral services were conducted early next day by the Rev. Roy F. Bradley of this city. It was returned here Monday and interred in Maple cemetery that forenoon.

Mrs. Alexander was a native of Tennessee and was about 42 years old at the time of her death. So far as we have ascertained no children survive her marriage to Mr. Alexander.
