A former North Platte city councilman, Millard S. Adamson, 68y of 704 East Philip died Monday at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1909, at North Platte. Mr. Adamson, a 1928 graduate of North Platte High School, was associated in the retail grocery business from 1926 until 1959 when he was elected city-clerk treasurer. He later served on the North Platte city council. In 1962 he resigned and was affiliated with the Best Western Motels in a six state area. He retired in 1974 and returned to North Platte. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 985 for 32 years and other associations. Survivors include his widow Edith, two sons Donald and Richard, both of North Platte, a sister Mrs. Mildred Thompson of Ottumwa, Iowa, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2PM at the Adams and Swanson Chapel with the Reverend Wendell Davis of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. The casket will not be open following the services. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Fund.
