Mrs. Kathryn Steed, age 55 of Grapeland, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mrs. Steed was born June 4, 1948 in grapeland to Lee Roy and Zelma oliver Yates. Mrs Steed was a administrative assistant and was employed with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Mrs.Steed was a member of the Sunset Church.
Surivors include her husband Gary Steed, of Grapeland; mother Zelma Yates of Grapeland;son Ray C. Durst III. and wife Kara, of Copeville; sister Sybil Sanders and husband Richard, of Grapeland; brother Bob Yates and wife Kathleen, of Grapeland; two grandchildren Joey Durst and Kaleigh Durst.
Preceded in death by her father; sister Marilyn Day.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn Yates Steed were held
Saturday, March 27, at Sunset Christian Church in Grapeland; with the Rev. Morris Ivey officiating. Interment followed in the Davis Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andrea Delagarza, Jeff Berry, Michael Hutcherson, Bob Reeves, Cliff Federwisch, Bobby Bowlin, Lt. Victor Taylor and Lt. Tim Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers, were Randy Johnson, Mike Stanford and Jeff Pirtle.
